The fine print
Privacy
How we handle your information, in plain language.
Effective July 28, 2026. This is our privacy policy in plain language, because a press built on clarity should not hide behind boilerplate.
What we collect
When you use a form on this site, we receive what you type into it: typically your name, your email address, and your message or submission. When you join Margin Notes, we keep your email address and first name on our mailing list. Our server keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
How we use it
We use your information to answer you, to evaluate submissions, and to send you the letters you asked for. That is the whole list.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. This site carries no advertising trackers.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies for caching and security. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie here.
Every letter we send includes an unsubscribe link, and it works on the first click. Unsubscribing removes you from the list; it does not require an explanation.
Your rights
Write to info@grayareapublishing.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will comply promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted in Margin Notes.
